Hilda Damee Yerriah
Mrs Hilda Yerriah is the Senior of the Chambers. She has been an Attorney since 1989 and has been in practice since. She deals mainly in Civil matters mainly Family, Land, Intellectual Property, Commercial and Employment Law. She has represented numerous clients over mediation matters and is acting Attorney for an institution dealing in copyright matters.
Hilda is also a Certified Mediator and a Certified Financial Crime Compliance Professional (FCCCP). She has been the President of the CIArb Mauritius Branch for a whole year in 2019 to 2020. She has represented the branch in Nairobi Kenya by being one of the Speakers at the Women in Arbitration Conference in Kenya. She is also the Chancellor of the Province of the Indian Ocean (Anglican Community) and she is on the board of the Global South Anglican Communion as a member and secretary to the Board and has been a member of that Board since 2 years. She has represented the Anglican Church in the Egypt conference in 2019.
Gayle Mary-Jane Yerriah
Ms Gayle M Yerriah has been called to the Bar of England and Wales in November 2011 before practicing the BPTC at the University of West England. She is a member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple Inn and has been called to the Bar in Mauritius in January 2013. Ms Yerriah has been in practice as a litigator since 2013 and has appeared in numerous civil and criminal cases in all the courts of Mauritius.
She has been a board member of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority one of the parastatal bodies in Mauritius. She has represented Mauritius at the Annual CRASA meeting in Namibia in 2017. She has been sitting on the board of the Financial Services Commission for over five years and has both the regulatory aspect and the industry experience at hand. By being on the FSC she has had the opportunity to represent the country at the Islamic Finance Conference held in Indonesia in 2019 and chairs and sits on various sub -committees of the Board.
She has also been chairing some board of Inquiry for parastatals in Mauritius and is a Fellow Arbitrator. Ms Gayle Yerriah is also an adept of Fintech and has undergone a course with the National University of Singapore in relation to Fintech: Innovation and Transformation in Financial Services.
